Kidder Advisers is a full-service, independent, investment advisor and consulting firm focused on the retirement plan needs of businesses and nonprofits, as well as their owners, managers and employees. We can act as a broker, adviser or consultant for both qualified and nonqualified plans, as well as the ongoing wealth and estate planning needs of our clients. American Retirement Association (ARA)

The American Retirement Association is a non-profit professional organization with two major goals: to educate all retirement plan and benefits professionals, and to create a framework of policy that gives every working American the ability to have a comfortable retirement. The organization is comprised of four premier industry associations – the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA), the ASPPA College of Pension Actuaries (ACOPA), the National Association of Plan Advisors (NAPA) and the National Tax-deferred Savings Association (NTSA). It provides extensive continuing educational opportunities through its Retirement Plan Academy, credentialing and certificate programs.

The American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries (ASPPA)

ASPPA is the national professional society of benefits professionals and is the premier educator, voice and advocate for the employer-based retirement system.

National Association of Plan Advisors (NAPA)

The National Association of Plan Advisors, an affiliate organization of the American Retirement Association, was created by and for retirement plan advisors. Membership is also open to other retirement industry professionals who support the interests of plan advisors. As a professional society, NAPA is uniquely committed to seven core principles of advisors serving employer-sponsored retirement plans:

  • The retirement industry is in transition, and NAPA is a leader for positive change.
  • NAPA’s core purpose is to enhance retirement security in America.
  • NAPA members focus on providing high quality, professional advice to retirement plans and/or their participants.
  • NAPA members are committed to leading the transition to a more transparent, effective, professionally governed retirement system.
  • NAPA members may serve as either fiduciaries or non-fiduciaries, but are committed to clearly disclosing their fiduciary or non-fiduciary status to their ERISA retirement plan clients.
  • NAPA members pledge to comply with all requirements relating to retirement plans that are or will be required by the SEC, DOL or any other governing agencies.
  • NAPA members pledge to maintain ethical standards in their representation of plan sponsor and participant clients and will strive to service them under a process that puts their clients’ interests first.

National Institute of Pension Administrators (NIPA)

NIPA is a leading provider of educational programs for retirement plan professionals.

Retirement Advisor Council (RAC)

The Retirement Advisor Council advocates for successful qualified plan and participant retirement outcomes through the collaborative efforts of experienced, qualified retirement plan advisors, investment firms, asset managers and defined contribution plan service providers. The Council accomplishes this mission by its focus on:

  • Identification of duties, responsibilities and attributes of the professional retirement plan advisor.
  • Sharing our professional standards with plan sponsors, who are responsible for the success of their plans.
  • Providing collective thought capital to decision makers, product providers, legislators and the public.
  • Giving advice to the retirement plan advisor community.
  • Developing tools to evaluate advisors – ensuring the quality of services needed for successful retirement plan outcomes.

Center for Fiduciary Studies (CFS)

CFS is the first full-time training and research facility focused exclusively on investment fiduciary responsibility and portfolio management. The Center provides training to help investment fiduciaries and professionals improve the investment process.

ESOP Association (ESOP)

ESOP is a national, non-profit membership organization serving approximately 2,400 employee ownership plan companies and professionals with a commitment to ESOPs. It is the only association devoted solely to ESOPs and promotes and enhances laws before Congress and regulatory agencies that govern ESOPs. It also provides its members with expert educational ESOP programming.

National Center for Employee Ownership (NCEO)

NCEO is a private, nonprofit membership and research organization that serves as the leading source of accurate, unbiased information on employee stock ownership plans, equity compensation plans such as stock options, and ownership culture.

American Bar Association (ABA)

The ABA is the largest voluntary professional association in the world. The ABA provides law school accreditation, continuing legal education, information about the law, programs to assist lawyers and judges in their work, and initiatives to improve the legal system for the public. The mission is to be the national representative of the legal profession, servicing the public and profession by promoting justice, professional excellence and respect for the law.

American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA)

The AICPA is the national, professional organization for all Certified Public Accountants. Its mission is to provide members with the resources, information and leadership that enable them to provide valuable services in the highest professional manner to benefit the public as well as employers and clients.
